Crestron - v 8.0.1

Extra Vegetables® Control4® driver for Crestron® lighting enables you to integrate a Crestron lighting system with keypads into Control4.  PLEASE NOTE - this will ONLY work with Crestron Series 2 processor.

This provides the same features and customer experience as Control4's native lighting control. You can dim and switch loads and there is also the facility to represent Crestron relays as motorization devices within Control4. The driver is IP based.

Crestron keypads are fully supported by the driver. It is possible to add custom programming to key presses on the Crestron keypads within the Control4 system. This means that keys not used for lighting operations could be used for AV or other control purposes.

Please note the driver is designed to integrate button presses and lighting elements only. It does not and cannot provide a Control4 UI on a Crestron touch panel.

Supported manufacturer models

Crestron Series 2 processor ONLY

Supported Control4 operating systems

Compatible with Control4 OS 2.x and above ONLY

Control4 Processor Requirements

HC800
HC1000

Limitations

Cannot import scenes from Crestron
The values for the various lighting scenes (global presets) are not imported from D3-Pro. You can still recall Crestron scenes from Control4. Please see the instructions for more details.

Single Processor
The driver only supports a single Crestron processor on the remote side for communication. Other Crestron processors may be present but Control4 can only communicate with one.

Further information

Reliable IP Control between the two systems.
System intercommunication is via IP ethernet. No serial ports are used by either system and the driver is compatible with any ethernet enabled Crestron processor.

'Cloud' based driver - simple to deploy, transparent to customer.
A 'cloud' based driver attaches devices such as lighting circuits to a 'cloud' that represents the Crestron network. Each device is then simply named to match the corresponding name used within D3 Pro. None of this is evident to the customer. A light is a light regardless of whether it is on the Crestron network or a Control4 outlet module.

Support for dimmable and non-dimmable lighting loads.
Not all light types are dimmable. Just as you would connect some to a Crestron dimmer and some to a Crestron relay you make the same virtual choices within Composer. This ensures that only dimmable lighting loads are presented to your customer with faders.

Support for motorization devices .
Crestron relays are multi-purpose and this flexibility is echoed in the driver. If you use a relay to control a fan you can represent this as a fan directly within Control4.

Crestron lighting programmed in D3 Pro.
The Crestron lighting system is programmed and commissioned using D3 Pro in the usual manner. D3 Pro will produce the Remote System Definition file which is used to identify the lighting and keypads from within Control4. This file is required for the integration to work. No additional modules are required on the Crestron system nor are any software or hardware modifications required.

Use Crestron switches as AV keypads.
The driver also allows the integration of Crestron keypads within the Control4 system. Key presses are recognized by the Control4 system and can be used for any programmable task. This can include source selection, volume control and transport commands.

Supports Creston Lighting Scenes (Global Presets).
It is possible to recall any Global Preset defined in D3 Pro by name from Control4 programming. This enables the recall of lighting scenes from the Control4 interfaces.

Supports Crestron Drape Controller.
Direct support of drape and blind controller devices. This ensures they appear in the correct section of the Control4 UIs. •Allows control over the vacation scheduler. Control4 events occur when the vacation scheduler starts recording, playback or is stopped. It is also possible to instruct the Crestron vacation scheduler to playback, record or stop from Control4 programming.

Disclaimer

This driver is an independent commercial release by Extra Vegetables Ltd. It is not authorized or supported either by Control4 or Crestron. The driver is not designed to allow the use of Crestron touch panels with a Control4 system.
