Dynalite - v 7.0.7
This driver enables two way communication between a Control4 system and a Dynalite lighting system. Standard elements such as dimmable and swiched lighting can be added to the Control4 system which map to the equivalents on the Dynalite system. Dynalite channels are represented with the standard Control4 light user interfaces.
The package also includes drivers for the Dynalite blinds module and motorisation relays which are also shown as standard Control4 items on the Control4 UIs.
An area/preset driver enables presets (scenes) to be recalled and monitored by the Control4 system.
From version 7.0.6 of the driver you should use the Passive TCP master driver included in the package. Existing installations can remain on the Telnet method if they are stable in operation. Please read the installation instructions carefully.
Supported Control4 operating systems
Compatible with Control4 OS 2.x and above ONLY
Control4 Processor Requirements
As the interface to the Dynalite network is not particularly fast we recommend that you maintain your Scenes/Presets on the Dynalite network to avoid any Popcorn effect .
Area Linking and Preset Offset
These are not currently supported by the driver.
When a preset is selected the Control4 interfaces will instantly show the final levels of the lighting circuits. The circuits will then fade to these levels as per the fade time defined for the preset.
The Extra Vegetables Control4 drivers for the Philips Dynalite lighting system implements the following features:
Reliable IP Control through Dynalite DMNG100BT interface.
The DMNG100BT provides a convenient interface between the Control4 system and the Dynalite network. The interface requires some brief set up to set a static IP address and to enable Telnet. This is all detailed in our instructions and should take no more than 5 minutes.
'Cloud' based driver - simple to deploy, transparent to customer.
A 'cloud' based driver attaches devices such as lighting circuits to a 'cloud' that represents the Dynalite network. Each device is then simply addressed to match the corresponding channel address on the Dynalite network. None of this is evident to the customer. A light is a light regardless of whether it is on the Dynalite network or a Control4 outlet module.
Support for dimmable and non-dimmable lighting loads.
Not all light types are dimmable. Just as you would connect some to a Dynalite dimmer and some to a Dynalite relay you make the same virtual choices within Composer. This ensures that only dimmable lighting loads are presented to your customer as faders.
Support for motorization devices.
Dynalite relays are multi-purpose and this flexibility is echoed in the driver. If you use a relay to control a fan you can represent this as a fan directly within Control4.
Recall and Preset in an Area.
Our Area/Preset driver provides you with full communication to and from a Dynalite area. You can recall any Preset in and area, or issue global fade commands. You also have access to special functions such as Area Off, Panic/UnPanic and the saving of new Preset Channel levels.
React to Presets being recalled on the Dynalite network.
When a Preset is recalled from a Dynalite network Control4 will automatically update the lighting levels on the Control4 interfaces. You also have the ability to add in additional programming when Presets are recalled.
Can use Dynalite keypads for AV purposes.
By creating Dynalite Presets which exclude all lighting you can use keys programmed to set these empty presets to trigger events within Control4. These can be used to select a particular source or playlist - or simply to turn a room off.
This driver is an independent commercial release by Extra Vegetables Ltd. It is not authorized or supported either by Control4 or Dynalite. Extra Vegetables fully support the driver through its authorized dealer network. We are grateful to AWE Europe for the loan of the Dynalite equipment used during the development of the driver.
