HAI Hi-Fi2 8x8 - v 5.0.5
The HAI Hi-Fi2 is a wall mounted multiroom system with an optional metal enclosure. The base system offers 8 sources with 8 full zones of class D amplification at 25W per channel. This can be expanded to 16 zones with the optional zone extender.
At Extra Vegetables we are all about extending the choices available to Control4 dealers and we feel that the Hi-Fi2's size, shape and configuration makes it an interesting and useful alternative.
But when you add in the HAI keypads to the mix things get really interesting. These simple source selection and volume control keypads have a small OLED screen at the top. The clever bit is that our driver allows you to display metadata from the Control4 system on these keypads. It is really quite simple to show an Artist name and Song Title on these keypads with minimal Control4 programming.
The HAI Hi-Fi2 driver is IP based - so it's really simple to install.
The driver does not require a OMNI Home Control System and provides no integration with an OMNI system. The driver is designed simply to integrate the stand-alone Hi-Fi2 system with Control4.

Features
- IP Control
No IR bugs or serial ports required - Full control from Control4
Acts like a regular multiroom amplifier within Control4. Just add some simple programming to allow Control4 to follow changes made on HAI keypads - Discrete Volume Control
Set and receive instant notification of volume changes. Volume % shown on the Control4 interfaces. - Metadata on Keypads
You can dynamically change the Source Name and Metadata on the HAI keypads. This allows you to program these to show Artist and Title or Radio Station and Information lines. In fact any text variable from within Control4 can be displayed on the keypads - Paging Function
Access to the Hi-Fi2's paging function.
Requirements
- HC800 (or HC1000)
If you are using an 8x8 multiroom system it suggests your project is for more than three rooms - so you are definitely going to need an HC800. - Control4 OS2.x
It might work with 1.8, you can try it if you like. However it's only fully tested with OS2.x so we recommend you use the latest and best Control4 operating system.
The driver is not an official HAI release but we'd like to thank HAI and Aldous systems for the loan of the Hi-Fi2 we used to write the driver. Like all our drivers if you have a problem contact us for support via our Helpdesk. Write neatly and clearly.
