Extra Vegetables' Control4 driver for Cooper Control's iLight enables you to integrate a iLight lighting system into Control4. You can connect either using the SI-2 serial interface or either IP interface.
This provides the same features and customer experience as Control4's native lighting control. You can dim and switch loads and there is also the facility to represent iLight relays as motorization devices within Control4.
iLight scenes are fully support via the driver. An Area/Scene driver allows Control4 to recall any iLight Scene in an Area and to react when a Scene is recalled from a iLight keypad. It also provides the possibility of reprogramming scenes on the iLight network to the current levels in an Area. We have also enabled the sending and receiving of customer serial commands via the SI-2 interface.
The driver is fully two way - changes on the Control4 UI's are reflected on the iLight network and vice-versa. The use of iLight lighting is completely transparent to the customer who can fully utilize the Control4 interfaces for lighting control.

The Extra Vegetables Control4 drivers for the Cooper Controls iLight lighting system implements the following features:
•Reliable RS232 or IP Control through iLight interfaces.
The SI-2 provides a convenient interface between the Control4 system and the iLight network. If you don't require the custom serial command features this is simply plug and play - no setup required. You can also use either IP interface.
•'Cloud' based driver - simple to deploy, transparent to customer.
A 'cloud' based driver attaches devices such as lighting circuits to a 'cloud' that represents the iLight network. Each device is then simply addressed to match the corresponding channel address on the iLight network. None of this is evident to the customer. A light is a light regardless of whether it is on the iLight network or a Control4 outlet module.
•Support for dimmable and non-dimmable lighting loads.
Not all light types are dimmable. Just as you would connect some to a iLight dimmer and some to a iLight relay you make the same virtual choices within Composer. This ensures that only dimmable lighting loads are presented to your customer with faders.
•Support for motorization devices.
iLight relays are multi-purpose and this flexibility is echoed in the driver. If you use a relay to control a fan you can represent this as a fan directly within Control4.
•Recall and Scene in an Area.
Our Area/Scene driver provides you with full communication to and from a iLight area. You can recall any Scene in an area, or issue global fade commands. You also have access to special functions such as Area Off and the saving of new Preset Channel levels.
•React to Scene being recalled on the iLight network.
When a Scene is recalled from a iLight network Control4 will automatically update the lighting levels on the Control4 interfaces. You also have the ability to add in additional programming to add additional functions when Scenes are recalled.
•Can use iLight keypads for AV purposes.
By creating iLight Presets which exclude all lighting you can use keys programmed to set these empty presets to trigger events within Control4. These can be used to select a particular source or playlist - or simply to turn a room off.
•Can send and receive custom serial messages.
The SI-2 can be programmed to react to custom serial messages sent to it by the control system. This enables detailed lighting sequences to be offloaded to the lighting control system (where they belong). Similarly it is able to send custom messages to the control system on certain conditions. Both these features are supported by the driver.
•Compatible with Control4 OS 2.x ONLY.
This driver is designed to be used with the latest releases of Control4 only.
There are currently the following limitations with the driver:
To avoid the Popcorn effect we recommend that you maintain your Scenes/Presets on the iLight network.
When a preset is selected the Control4 interfaces will jump the final levels of the lighting circuits once the scene fade is complete.
The following are required for successful deployment of the driver.
•'HC' Class Controller
We do not recommend using this driver with older Media Controllers or Home Theater Controllers. They may work but the operation may be slow.
•Control4 2.0 (or higher) + HC800 Controller for larger systems
The introduction of any two-way driver into a project adds to the processor load. In line with Control4's recommendations we suggest that an HC800 is used for systems of more than three rooms.
This driver is an independent commercial release by Extra Vegetables Ltd. It is not authorized or supported either by Control4 or iLight.
