PushNotify (BrightSky) - v 7.0.0
PushNotify is a driver that sends push notifications from the Control4 system to iOS devices such as the iPhone/iPad as well as Android Devices via a third party app installed on each device.
The apps that are currently supported are:
- Prowl for iOS - www.prowlapp.com
- Notify My Android (NMA) for Android - http://nma.usk.bz
Each app must be installed and configured on a supported device.
- What are Push Notifications?
Push Notifications are short, simple messages that can be sent to internet connected devices where the request is generated by a central server. Most people are familiar with receiving text messages on their phones. Push Notifications are very similar in appearance and behaviour. Since the request is generated by a server a phone or other device receives the message instantly and does not need to constantly "check-in" which saves battery life. - Does PushNotify require a 4Sight Account?
No. PushNotify allows you to send messages from a Control4 system without the need of a 4sight account. - What advantages do Push Notifications have over standard e-mails?
Push notifications are typically shorter than email notifications and are instantly delivered to the device. Push notifications can also be assigned priorities which could be setup on the device to have different alert levels. High priority messages (like a fire alarm) could have an "alarm" sound attached to them. Lower priority messages can be configured to produce no sound or vibrate the device only. Also do not disturb times could be configured to prevent any alert interrupting the client during certain hours.
PushNotify is a BrightSky driver sold under exclusive license by Extra Vegetables. All support is via Extra Vegetables.

The following are required for successful deployment of the driver:
- Control4 2.0 (or higher)
Extra Vegetables have fully tested this driver on Control4 OS 2.x. It may work with older versions of the OS but this is not supported.
