ReQuest - v 7.0.0
Extra Vegetables' driver for ReQuest servers and players provides full integration with Control4.
Extra Vegetables have worked closely with ReQuest to enable as many features as possible in the driver. Like all music player drivers within Control4 it is based on the 'iPod template'. This means that music selection is list based. Cover art is only shown on the Now Playing screens.
The driver is compatible with the Control4 OSD, remote, all Control4 touch panels and the iPhone and iPad apps. The driver will work with any ReQuest audio server regardless of the number of audio outputs it has. You simply add a copy of the driver into the Control4 project for each output. As always you only need to purchase ONE LICENSE PER PROJECT.
NOTE THIS DRIVER CANNOT CONTROL THE IQ RANGE OF MULTIROOM PRODUCTS FROM REQUEST AS THESE ARE NOT DESIGNED FOR TWO-WAY THIRD PARTY CONTROL.
Qualifies under our One to Show One to Go offer. Buy your first driver, get your second free.
The Extra Vegetables Control4 driver for the a ReQuest audio zone implements the following features:
•Allows selection of music on the ReQuest server.
All music content can be retrieved using a list based interface - similar to an iPod. This is equivalent to Music Mode (Classical Mode is not yet supported).
•Access any music services set up on the ReQuest device.
If you have set up any of the music service available on the ReQuest the driver will provide access to these. These are all presented under the ReQuest device in list format.
•Cover Art on Now Playing Screen
When music starts playing the driver retrieves the cover art from the ReQuest and displays this on the Now Playing mini-app and Now Playing screen. On the iPod and iPad Control4 apps this appears in the small Now Playing bar at the bottom of the screen.
•IP Control The driver uses IP control.
Since your Control4 system and ReQuest will already be connected to your home network it means there are no additional cables to be run.
•Works with all outputs
The driver will work with servers with all number of audio outputs. You simply add a copy of the driver for each output or zone the server has. Remember you only need to purchase one license per project - not per output!
There are currently the following limitations with the driver:
As the driver is based on Control4's iPod template there are no search facilities. You also will not see cover art when browsing the music collection. Cover art is displayed on the Now Playing interfaces as listed above.
The driver will not work with the ReQuest iQ server/multiroom system. This system is not designed to be controlled by a two-way third party system so unfortunately cannot be integrated with Control4.
The following are required for successful deployment of the driver:
•HC800 highly recommended
In line with Control4's recommendations we recommend that an HC800 controller is used on all systems with more than two rooms.
This driver is only for Control4 OS 2.x .
This driver is an independent commercial release by Extra Vegetables Ltd. Its development was supported by ReQuest, however all support responsibility lies with Extra Vegetables. Control4 do not offer direct support on this driver.
