Sony BD/Media Player - v 5.0.6
This is a simple inexpensive driver that provides IP control of the 2011 Sony range of Blu-ray and Media players.
As it's an IP driver there's no IR bug that can get dislodged and that's one less IR port you need to use on the back of the controller.
Like all our drivers the cost is per project not per Sony player. So if you have four Sony players in a project you only need one license.
NOTE: Sony have identified a problem with the firmware in their 80 Series BD players. This means that it is not possible to turn these players on via an IP command. The problem also affects their smart phone apps. Sony are aware of the issue but we do not believe there will be a fix for the behavior.

No bugs or serial ports to use. The Sony is a completely IP controllable device.
•Saves IR bug trouble
IR bugs may not be expensive but when you have to roll a truck to stick one back on suddenly they become very expensive. Reduce your risk - use this driver!
Limitations
There are currently the following limitations with the driver:
•Control4 2.x Only
This driver is only designed and tested with Control4 2.x. We understand that it can also be used with Contrtol4 1.8. It cannot be used with earlier versions of the Control4 operating system.
•One Way Driver Only
The driver does not allow any content browsing on the Control4 interfaces. Neither des it provide any Now Playing information.
Requirements
The following are required for successful deployment of the driver.
•'HC' Class Controller
We do not recommend using this driver with older Media Controllers or Home Theater Controllers. They may work but the operation may be slow.
•Control4 2.0 + HC800 Controller for larger systems
The introduction of any two-way driver into a project adds to the processor load. In line with Control4's recommendations we suggest that an HC800 is used for systems of more than three rooms.
•Players Supported
All 2011 BD and Media Players are supported. Any model supported by the Sony iPhone control app is also supported by the driver.
