Z-Wave is a mesh based wireless system which is supported by many different manufacturers. There are Z-Wave devices for lighting, appliances, thermostats, actuators and a whole range of different sensors. These devices are attractively priced and you may have customers that already have some Z-Wave devices in their home.
We have partnered with Mi Casa Verde and their Vera Z-Wave to Ethernet gateway to provide this Control4 integration. Now it is possible to include the world of Z-Wave devices as part of a Control4 installation. The driver works with the Vera 2, Vera 3 and Vera Lite products.
This is much more than just a lighting driver. Through the Vera gateway you can incorporate all types of Z-Wave sensors and actuators. It's also ideal if you have a customer who already has some Z-Wave devices in their home and they now want to expand into a full Control4 system.
There are also optional add-on 4Store apps that can show the current levels of Humidity and Temperature. These also provide minimum/maximum Levels as well as the ability to set high and low warning points. See Apps for more details.

There is no concept of a ramp time in Z-Wave, lights adjust their levels based on their internal settings. There are no raise or lower commands

Some scene setting devices may not be compatible - contact us for updates.
All Z-Wave 'associations' should be made in Vera. The driver does not connect directly to the Z-Wave network.

'Cloud' based driver - simple to deploy, transparent to customer.
A 'cloud' based driver attaches devices such as lighting circuits to a 'cloud' that represents the Z-Wave network. Each device is then simply named to match the corresponding item in Vera. None of this is evident to the customer. A light is a light regardless of whether it is on the Z-Wave network or a Control4 outlet module.
Recall and monitor scenes defined in Vera.
Vera allows you to define scenes for lighting and other actions. You can define all your lighting scenes in Vera to offload this functionality from Control4. You can trigger Vera scenes within Control4 programming. Vera also informs Control4 when a scene is active.
This driver is an independent commercial release by Extra Vegetables Ltd. It is not authorized or supported by either Control4, Mi Casa Verde or the Z-Wave Alliance. Extra Vegetables fully support the driver through its authorized dealer network.
